3. Carousel Christmas Ride-A-Thon at the Merry-Go-Round Museum
Dec 12, 2015
Cool Factor: The first Christmas Carousel Ride-A-Thon is a chance for families to start the holiday season with fun and excitement. Free museum admission is offered with $1 carousel rides throughout the day and options to purchase punch cards for multiple rides. There will be crafts for kids, wood carvers, an ice carver, and a special appearance by Santa.
4. Family Holiday Pops with the Firelands Symphony

Dec 18, 2015 - Dec 20, 2015

The Sandusky State Theatre Repertory Company presents a story of two WWII Veterans who help bring a Vermont lodge back to its pre-war glory through song and dance.
6. Santa Flies into Port Clinton

7. Santa Hustle! At Cedar Point
Dec 20, 2015
Cool Factor: Runners participating in this 5K or half-marathon will be in Santa outfits and running through Cedar Point in December (a rare opportunity!) Plus, volunteers will be in elf costumes and provide cookie stations; instead of the usual water stations provided at most races. Fun for all and a sight to see!
8. Winter Solstice Night Hike at East Sandusky Bay MetroPark
Dec 22, 2015

9. Holiday Sleigh Rides through Spiegel Grove (Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums)
Dec 26, 2015 - Dec 31, 2015

10. Walleye Madness at Midnight – Downtown Port Clinton
Dec 31, 2015
Cool Factor: New York City has their “big apple” drop at midnight to mark the beginning of the New Year. So, naturally, the “Walleye Capital of the World” celebrates the occasion by dropping a 20-foot, 600-pound fiberglass walleye from the sky at the stroke of midnight. Each year, thousands brave the cold, gathered for hours, awaiting this momentous drop – partaking in fun kids’ events, live entertainment, food, and libations. Don’t miss the “Walleye White” wine or the walleye chowder to keep you warm until the big fish falls.
