Each summer the Lake Erie Shores & Islands celebrates the Fourth of July with special activities and spectacular fireworks over Lake Erie.
July 1-4, 2017
Light Up the Point
Cedar Point, 1 Cedar Point Dr. (off US 6), Sandusky
There's no better way to celebrate Independence Day weekend than at Cedar Point's Light Up the Point. Dig into pie-eating contests each day or fill a plate with all-you-can-eat sliders and apple pie, enjoy dancing and face-painting at the Red, White & Boogie for just $19 + tax. On July 4 only, watch fireworks light up the Lake Erie shoreline and upgrade to VIP viewing with 3-D glasses, a reserved seat on the beach, plus all-you-can-eat food and drinks for just $25 + tax!
East Harbor Independence Day Celebration
East Harbor State Park, 1169 N. Buck Rd., Marblehead
Summer is in full swing and it is time to hit the beach. Friday night enjoy a band and bonfire on the beach. Watch local fireworks from the shores of Lake Erie on July 4.

Band performances by Blues Chronicles at 6:30 pm and Colin Dussault's Blues Project at 8:45 pm. Fireworks at 10:30 pm.

Riverview Independence Day Indoor Parade (2 pm)
Ottawa County Riverview Healthcare Campus 8180 W. SR 163, Oak Harbor
Adults and children are invited to dress in patriotic garb and bring trikes, bikes, wagons, etc. for an indoor Patriotic Parade to music.
Oak Harbor Independence Day Celebration (5-11 pm)
Mill Street along the Portage River, Downtown Oak Harbor
Food, entertainment, giant inflatables, duck race on the Portage River, 50/50 drawing, live band, and beer. All leading up to a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

Port Clinton Area 4th of July Celebration
- Star Spangled Squirt Gun 5K, Jefferson St. Pier (9 am)
- Red, White, and Blu-Ray Movies at Trinity Church (11 am-7 pm)
- Firecracker Cutie Contest at Trinity Church (1 pm)
- Ice Cream, Apple Pie, and Hot Dog Social at Trinity Church (3-7 pm)
- Classic Car Show at Adams Street Park (3-7 pm)
- Voices of Freedom Concert at Trinity Church (7 pm)
- Family Dance Party at Waterworks Park (8-10 pm)
- Fireworks at Waterworks Park (10 pm)
Lakeside Chautauqua Independence Day Activities (10 am-10 pm)
Lakeside Chautauqua, Second St., Lakeside
Fourth of July festivities will kick-off with the Children's Bike Parade at 10 am followed by the Fourth of July Float Parade at 10:15 am with unique golf cart floats. Fireworks at 9:45 pm. (Gate fee applies)
Fourth of July Concert (2-3:30 pm)
Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums at Spiegel Grove, 1337 Hayes Ave., Fremont
Bring your chair or blanket for this patriotic concert, performed by the Toledo Symphony concert band, on the verandah of the historic Hayes Home. Civil War reenactors will punctuate the performance of the "1812 Overture" with cannon fire. (Free)
Stars & Stripes Celebration
Washington Park, 200 Washington St. (US 6), Sandusky
This is a family-friendly holiday event. There will be a parade, children activities, concession stands, musical entertainment, and more.
4th of July Fireworks Cruise (8:30-11 pm)
Goodtime I, 109 W. Shoreline Dr. (at Jackson St. Pier), Sandusky
Enjoy Cedar Point's fireworks from the most unique spot - on Lake Erie! This is a family friendly cruise. Please call for details and reservations. ($15.30/person)
