Morning: Start the day at Liberty Aviation Museum, home to Georgie’s Gal (a WWII B-25 Mitchell Bomber), a U.S. Navy WWII TBM Avenger, WWII PT-boat, and more. The museum not only collects war memorabilia, but it also has commercial vehicles, firetrucks and tools, and even items from the Titanic. At the museum, learn more about the Ford Tri-Motor and its significance to the area while witnessing the restoration of one from 1929.
Afterwards, take a walk on the wild side at African Safari Wildlife Park - home to giraffe, zebra, white alligators, and much more. Or, make a gallery walk through The Arts Garage in downtown Port Clinton.
Lunch: Relax and refuel at one of the delectable dining options in the area. Something is sure to tickle your taste buds!
Afternoon: Stop and take in the views from Marblehead Lighthouse State Park. Spend the rest of the day exploring Lakeside Chautauqua. Celebrating over 150 years, this historic community sits right on Lake Erie with beautiful views of the water. Here guests can shop ‘til they drop, participate in recreational activities such as miniature golf or shuffleboard, or enjoy additional programming.
Evening: Take advantage of Lakeside’s banquet services or be part of the community and visit one of the local restaurants downtown. As the day comes to a close, grab one final tasty treat, do any last minute souvenir shopping, and watch the sunset over the lake from the pier.
